How can science drive impactful agriculture, environment, and energy policies in Portugal? How can we foster stronger dialogue between these deeply interconnected sectors?
These pressing questions brought together over 100 researchers from CE3C, MED - Instituto Mediterrâneo para a Agricultura, Ambiente e Desenvolvimento and CENSE - Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research at the CHANGE 2024 Annual Meeting, held at the Universidade de Lisboa Rectory.
The event was a vibrant mix of insightful presentations, dynamic debates, and collaborative group activities. Among the many highlights were keynote talks by world-renowned experts: Wolfgang Cramer, who provided a compelling perspective on the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss and Siddharth Sareen, who underscored Portugal’s unique potential in advancing towards a low-carbon economy.
The discussions and outcomes reinforced a clear message: a shift in the current paradigm is essential - and CHANGE is ready to lead the way.
